First the Black Lantern Corps rose from the Crypt on Oa decimating the planet and many Lanterns in their horrific path.

Then Kyle Rayner’s brush with death and a Black Lantern ring resulted in Guy Gardner being blinded by great rage as he transformed into a Red Lantern killing machine.

All this tragedy and devastation led to the collapse of the Green Lantern Central Power Battery.

How could writer Peter J. Tomasi and artist Patrick Gleason make things any worse for our Emerald Warriors?

How about the return of one of the greatest threats the DC Universe has ever known: THE ANTI-MONITOR?

I did. While I generally think of the entire Blackest Night series as a convoluted case of a 'Saturday Morning Cartoon' meets slasher flick, I did enjoy the last issue, granted it was a cop-out of sorts. Not to spoil anything but it has been stated before that Brightest Day is about second chances, but you'll be surprised to know that nearly everyone (except a number you can count with one hand) are not granted it. We get to see lots of new costumes, half of which you'll get absolutely no explanation for. lol. I smell customs.

I'll have to look at the image again ... to me it looked like everyone had at least a minor costume tweak, with D being the only exception that I noticed. I didn't mind that the second chances were kept to a minimum, although I think there should have been more as to why those particulars were in the close proximity

I wonder if any other people came back to life in other areas.  I was disappointed Tempest did not come back.

Was there anyone else that you thought would or should have come back?   Obviously Aquaman and MM and the Hawkman/woman were no brainers.

For me it was Jade.  She wasn't supposed to die in the first place, and she was only killed because the writers got cold feet on who they originally wanted to die.  Unfortunately, they'd trapped themselves by saying, "This issue, someone dies!"  It was stupid and unnecessary, and I hope they keep her around.

I'm a bit confused on Ice's fate still. I gathered she died sometime in the past, before this whole Blackest Night deal even started, and I don't recall her dying since GL Rebirth, so in the GLC for this month when she's a Black Lantern and Guy leaves her to fall and shatter on the ground... is she a living Black Lantern (like Superman and Wonder Woman) or was she a dead one? If she's a living one, then will she come back whole, or will Guy have cleaning up to do? I didn't see her in BN#8, so I'm unclear on that, or if anyone else is wondering about that.

From what I understand it was supposed to be Kyle Raynor, Which I could have lived with. AS a matter of fact I would have preferred him to bite it rather than Jade.

But the whiny little Kyle fans would have been upset so it didn't happen.

First off, this was one of the series that I did NOT have ANY buyer's remorse when finished reading (Countdown...igh...calculating how much I spent on that just made me ill).

Second, fanboy that I am, it would have been nice to have this being used for a mass resurrection of all the Teen Titans who died...Marvin, Lilith, even Power Boy..I still miss you....
