ok, so I understand the YJ figures are going away, not wondering about that, but i dont understand why the bidding on an artemis figure is up to 38 bucks.  if she had accessories, that could be cool, but not for an accessoryless figure!  I mean she is one of those figures that needs the accessory.

Because many bidders and a lot of sellers on ebay are just stupid to me.  They drive it up early thinking they'll scare off everyone else.  And in some cases, they might drive off a few.  But all that does is assure them they'll pay more than they could have.  It makes no sense to me either. 

Same with bidders that list something at $99 and then wind up having to relist it repeatedly.  People want to BID.

That makes sense to me.

We've seen packaged figures out there, there's no doubt they'll be available eventually... so why pay that much for a figure with nothin' when you'll be abel to get the same figure, blister card fresh, with an accessory for much less fairly soon???

A lot of times people bid while they're drinking. Sellers love them.

Its people that are obsessive completeist who have to have everything and the chance that it wont be released is just to big of a chance to take so they bid large to make sure they get the things.

Being obsessive compulsive I can understand this to a point, but I'm also incredibly cheap and my OCD doesn't manifest in that sorta way where I have to have everything thankfully.

Don't get me wrong.  I've seen items go through the roof in the last few minutes.  So an item going for a lot doesn't phase me.  It just doesn't make sense when I see people bidding stuff up like , and there's four days left.  Oh well.

Artemis.  My limit was 18.50 and thats what it went for.

Well, I kid of get it. I've been chasing a 4in Artemis (with bow, if possible) since the moment Mattel announced they were not going out, and tehe few ?ve seen are the ones ta the prices you all are telling.

Graphix, the packaged Artemis auction is from an american guy. It may well be one that got a copy for the on-line e-zines and is now getting extra money for his MOC copy. I won't believe that there are many more packaged Artemis out there ready to ship unless I see at least three or four on ebay.

Xanadude, lucky you, I've been unable to get to any auction where the price in the last hour was less than 30 dollars.

OMG, just cheked and there is a chinese guy that has put one with a 'buy it now' price of 80$!!!

Mattel has said that the wave is coming out ... but hasn't said where. So I'm still hopeful that TRU or TJMaxx/Marshalls/Burlington will get them.
